Importing a mailbox

The import takes over an existing mailbox from another provider over IMAP. Messages are copied along with the folder structure.

That is the most important property: the import keeps running even if you close the page or sign out. A large mailbox takes time, and you do not have to sit and watch. The imports list shows the state of each run.

Messages and folders are copied. What is not taken over are the things belonging to the old provider that work differently there: filter rules, signatures, vacation notices and address books. You set those up here again, see filters, signatures and contacts.

The import copies, it does not redirect. For new mail to arrive here, the MX record of the domain has to point at regfish. Whether it does is answered by the mail check in the dash.
